Dark Corners of the Land is Adelle Stripe’s third collection on Blackheath Books. These visceral confessional poems explore rural life, strange deaths, hunting, farming and hedonism, set against the backdrop of the small North Yorkshire town where she grew up.

Influenced by Robinson Jeffers, D.H. Lawrence and Ted Hughes, the poems are a raw and emotional response to subjects including myxomatosis, the Battle of Towton, bull castration, lambing, the badger cull, animal traps, poachers, fishing, underage drinking, acid house, and hunting with dogs.

The handmade chapbook features a stencilled barb wire spray-painted cover; the first 50 copies, have a vintage Brooke Bond Tea Card ‘Wild Birds of Britain’ edition by C.F. Tunnicliffe each one is signed by the author. London artist Lisa Cradduck has created an exclusive print which also features in the book.

The handmade cloth bound hardback edition also features a stencilled barb wire spray-painted cover; the 50 copies, have a vintage Brooke Bond Tea Card ‘Freshwater Fish’ edition by E. V. Petts each one is signed by the author. This edition also features Lisa Cradduck's Lumb Falls print.
